Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your tattoo appointment
Fine line tattoos typically hurt less than traditional tattoos because we use smaller needles and lighter pressure. Most clients describe it as a scratching sensation – uncomfortable but very bearable. My private studio is designed to help you stay relaxed throughout.
Small fine line tattoos take 1-2 hours. Medium designs take 2-3 hours. Larger or more detailed pieces may require multiple sessions. I never rush – your comfort and the quality of the work always come first.
Keep the wrap on for 2-4 hours, then gently wash with fragrance-free soap. Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream 2-3 times daily. Avoid swimming, direct sunlight, and tight clothing for 2-3 weeks. I'll give you detailed instructions after your session.
The surface heals in 2-3 weeks, but complete healing takes 4-6 weeks. Fine line tattoos often heal faster than traditional tattoos due to less skin trauma. Everyone heals differently, so be patient with your body.
I work by appointment only to ensure each client gets my full attention. This allows me to prepare your custom design and provide a relaxed, private experience. Book through my website and I'll get back to you within 24-48 hours.
Get a good night's sleep, eat a proper meal 1-2 hours before, stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area. Bring headphones if music helps you relax!

Book Appointment NowThe Complete Tattoo Aftercare Guide for Fine Line Tattoos
Congratulations on your new fine line tattoo! Fine line tattoos are delicate, detailed, and beautiful – but they also need proper care to heal perfectly. As your tattoo artist, I want to make sure your new artwork stays sharp and vibrant for years to come.
The First 24 Hours
The first hours after getting tattooed are crucial. Here's what you should do:
- Keep the wrap on for 2-4 hours (or as I instructed). This protects your fresh tattoo from bacteria.
- Gently wash with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap. Use your clean fingertips – never a washcloth or sponge.
- Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Don't rub!
- Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare cream.
Important: Less is more when it comes to tattoo aftercare. Too much cream can delay healing and cause problems.
Days 2-14: The Healing Phase
Your tattoo will go through several phases during this time. This is completely normal:
- Days 2-3: Slight redness and sensitivity. Your tattoo may feel warm.
- Days 4-6: Light peeling begins. DO NOT scratch or pick!
- Days 7-14: Peeling continues, skin may look slightly milky. This is normal.
Daily Care Routine
Wash your tattoo 2-3 times daily with fragrance-free soap. Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream or unscented lotion after each wash.
What to Avoid
For the best healing results, avoid the following for at least 2-3 weeks:
- Swimming – pools, ocean, lakes, and bathtubs
- Direct sunlight – UV rays can fade your fresh tattoo
- Gym and heavy sweating – wait at least 48-72 hours
- Tight clothing over the tattooed area
- Touching with unwashed hands
Long-Term Care
Once your tattoo is fully healed (usually 4-6 weeks), continue to protect it:
- Always use sunscreen (SPF 30+) when your tattoo is exposed to the sun
- Keep skin moisturized for vibrant, healthy-looking ink
- Stay hydrated – healthy skin means a beautiful tattoo
When to Contact Me
Healing varies for everyone, but contact me if you notice:
- Excessive redness or swelling after day 3
- Pus or unusual discharge
- Fever or signs of infection
- Severe itching or rash
I'm always here for you. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions about the healing process.

Book AppointmentYour First Tattoo? Everything You Should Know
Getting your first tattoo is exciting – and maybe a bit nerve-wracking. That's completely normal! I still remember my first tattoo at 16, and that experience ultimately led me to become a tattoo artist. Let me tell you everything you need to know to make your first tattoo experience unforgettable.
Choosing Your Design
Your first tattoo should be meaningful to you. Here's my advice:
- Take your time. There's no rush. Live with your idea for a while before committing.
- Choose something meaningful – a symbol, a date, a word, or an image that speaks to you.
- Consider the placement. Some areas are more painful, some are more visible.
- Trust your artist. I can help you refine your idea into something that works beautifully as a tattoo.
Finding the Right Artist
This might be the most important decision you make:
- Look at portfolios. Find an artist whose style matches what you want.
- Read reviews. Past client experiences tell you a lot.
- Visit the studio. It should be clean, professional, and welcoming.
- Have a consultation. A good artist will listen to your ideas and give you guidance.
My tip: In my private studio, you're the only client. No rushing, no waiting – just you and me in a relaxed atmosphere.
Preparing for Your Appointment
The Night Before
- Get a good night's sleep
- Avoid alcohol – it thins the blood
- Moisturize the area (but not on the day itself)
On the Day
- Eat a proper meal 1-2 hours before your appointment
- Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area
- Bring snacks and water for longer sessions
- Bring headphones if music helps you relax
What to Expect During the Session
Here's how a typical session in my studio goes:
- Design review: We look at the design together and make final adjustments.
- Stencil placement: I place the stencil and we check the position in the mirror.
- The tattooing: You'll feel a scratching sensation. Most people say it's more uncomfortable than painful.
- Breaks: Need a break? Just say so. It's totally okay.
- Aftercare instructions: I'll explain exactly how to care for your new tattoo.
Does It Hurt?
The honest answer: yes, but probably less than you think. Most clients describe it as:
- A scratching or stinging sensation
- Similar to a cat scratch
- Uncomfortable but bearable
Fine line tattoos typically hurt less than traditional tattoos because we use smaller needles and less pressure. Plus, my private studio is designed to help you relax – no crowds, no noise, just a calm space for your experience.
You've Got This!
Remember: thousands of people get tattoos every day, including many first-timers. You're in good hands, and I'm here to make this a positive, memorable experience for you.

Free ConsultationFine Line vs Traditional Tattoo – Which One Suits You?
When choosing a tattoo style, understanding the differences between fine line and traditional tattoos can help you make the right decision. Both styles are beautiful – but they offer very different aesthetics and experiences.
What Are Fine Line Tattoos?
Fine line tattoos use thin, delicate needles to create intricate, detailed designs. They're characterized by:
- Thin, precise lines – often as thin as a single needle
- Subtle shading – soft gradients and delicate details
- Minimalist aesthetic – elegant and understated
- Detailed work – perfect for intricate designs like botanicals, portraits, and lettering
What Are Traditional Tattoos?
Traditional tattoos (also called "Old School") have been around for over a century. They're characterized by:
- Bold, thick outlines – designed to stand the test of time
- Solid color fills – vibrant, saturated colors
- Classic imagery – anchors, roses, eagles, hearts
- High contrast – designs that are visible from a distance
Key Differences
Pain Level
Fine Line: Generally less painful due to smaller needles and lighter pressure.
Traditional: Can be more intense due to thicker needles and heavier saturation.
Healing Time
Fine Line: Typically heals faster (2-3 weeks) with proper care.
Traditional: May take 3-4 weeks due to more ink and skin trauma.
Longevity
Fine Line: May require touch-ups over time as thin lines can soften.
Traditional: Known for aging well due to bold lines and saturated colors.
My experience: With proper technique and care, fine line tattoos also hold up wonderfully. The quality of the work makes the difference.
Which Style Suits You?
Choose fine line tattoos if you:
- Prefer subtle, elegant designs
- Want intricate details and delicate linework
- Love minimalist aesthetics
- Want a tattoo that's easy to conceal
Choose traditional tattoos if you:
- Want a bold statement piece
- Prefer classic tattoo imagery
- Want maximum longevity without touch-ups
- Love vibrant, saturated colors
My Perspective
As a fine line specialist, I'm naturally passionate about delicate, detailed work. There's something magical about creating intricate designs that feel personal and intimate. But I also respect traditional tattoos – they're the foundation of our art form.
The best tattoo is one that speaks to you. If you're unsure which style fits your vision, let's talk about it during a consultation.

Book ConsultationMinimalist Tattoo Ideas for 2025
Minimalist tattoos continue to grow in popularity, and 2025 brings fresh inspiration. As someone who specializes in fine line and minimalist work, I'm excited to share the trends I'm seeing – and the timeless ideas that never go out of style.
Trends for 2025
Micro Botanicals
Tiny, delicate flowers and plants remain incredibly popular. Think single wildflower stems, small fern fronds, or minimalist olive branches. These designs work beautifully on wrists, ankles, and behind the ear.
Fine Line Animals
Simple line drawings of animals – a cat silhouette, a small bird, or a minimalist butterfly. These capture the essence of the subject without unnecessary details.
Abstract Line Art
Continuous line drawings, abstract faces, and geometric shapes. This style is modern, artistic, and uniquely personal.
Meaningful Words & Dates
Single words in elegant script, meaningful dates, or coordinates of special places. Simple, but deeply personal.
Celestial Elements
Tiny moons, stars, and sun designs. Minimalist celestial tattoos have a timeless, mystical quality.
Timeless Minimalist Ideas
Beyond trends, these minimalist concepts never go out of style:
- Small hearts – simple, classic, and meaningful
- Infinity symbols – representing eternal love or possibilities
- Initials – subtle tributes to loved ones
- Simple arrows – symbolizing direction and moving forward
- Wave lines – perfect for ocean lovers
- Mountain outlines – for nature lovers and adventurers
Placement Ideas
Minimalist tattoos work beautifully in subtle locations:
- Inner wrist – visible to you, easy to conceal
- Behind the ear – delicate and hidden when needed
- Ankle – classic placement for small designs
- Collarbone – elegant and feminine
- Fingers – tiny symbols or single letters
- Inner arm – personal and intimate

Make It Personal
The best minimalist tattoos aren't just trendy – they're meaningful. Here's how to make your design unique:
- Combine elements – a flower with a meaningful date, initials with a small symbol
- Choose your own flower – birth flowers, flowers from special memories
- Add subtle details – a tiny star, a dot, or a small addition that means something to you
- Custom line art – bring me a photo or idea and we'll create something original
